Another strong turnout of members for last night's meeting which included demonstrations and advice around some weathering techniques and products - thanks Tony! There were also plenty of projects 'on the tables'.

The group will not be a meeting in 2 weeks time due participation in the annual Australian Model Expo at Sandown across the long weekend. If you're in or around Melbourne, we can highly recommend checking this out, the largest scale model expo in the country - and good luck to members entering the competition side!

Next meeting is 20 June, 7:30pm Outlook Community Centre, Toomuc Rd, Pakenham.

Next club meeting is May 23, Outlook Community Centre, Toomuc Rd Pakenham, 7:30pm, all welcome.

This is a comparison between the Airfix Bolton Paul Defiant, which I built a number of years ago, and the Trumpeter version that I have just completed. The Airfix is superior in every metric, great fit, detail and build options. The Trumpeter has poor fit, limited in build options, lacking detail. I have managed to complete this build, but I believe that if you want a BPD, then the Airfix version would have to be recommended

In keeping with ANZAC day, the theme tonight was Aussie or Kiwi. A presentation on the Warbirds over Scone airshow was may. A good turn plenty of socializing afterwards. Next meeting is May 9th, a month out from Model Expo, so you better get building.

Attended this year's event. I found the club that organized the event friendly and helpful. It appeared to me well organized with a high standard of modelling. I personally received two 1st places and three Special Interest Group awards, so I was personally very satisfied. Congratulations to Southern Model Club : Vin Wragg
