🐢🌊 Caring for Sea Country is everyone’s responsibility 🌊🐟

Sea compliance and water quality monitoring can take Yuwi Rangers right across our Sea Country, checking waterways, observing coastal changes, monitoring environmental health and spending time on Country.

Not every stop is all work though… sometimes Sea Country looks after you too 🌴🥥 A quick stop on one of the islands for a fresh coconut before getting back out on the water.

Caring for Country means being present, observing, learning and protecting what has sustained our people for generations.

Finished off our week with a bit of time!
The boys went in empty handed and come out with the goods — crab catchers 😁🤌🏽

Our youngest member of the team, Lil Zahmani, was out and about on Country too this week!!

As we wrap up the week, we also want to send our deepest condolences to all our brothers and sisters & families going through sorry business, not only here locally, but right across the nation.

Our communities cry together, stands together, and holds each other up in these times. 🖤💛❤️

As we continue learning and practising cultural burning — from fire-sticks to working with our fire authorities — we stand in solidarity today.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service firefighter who passed while responding to a bushfire near Bulahdelah.

Our thoughts are with their family, colleagues, and the wider firefighting community. Their courage and commitment to protecting Country will never be forgotten.

We stand with NSW National Parks and all who work to keep our environment and communities safe.

The tragic news from New South Wales deeply saddens us at Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service about the dedicated firefighter from NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service who lost their life while responding to a bushfire near Bulahdelah.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to their family, friends, colleagues and the wider national parks and firefighting community. Their courage and selflessness in confronting these dangers—often at great personal risk—deserve our deepest respect.

In this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with NSW National Parks, and with all who fight to protect our precious environment and communities.

To the partner agencies, volunteers, supporters, and the wider community—thank you for standing together in grief, solidarity, and respect.
