Last Sunday, volunteers with Ocean Crusaders held a cleanup initiative along Oxley Creek, utilizing the Kendall Street canoe ramp to remove plastic and tyres from the Creek.
At the same time volunteers from the Lawson & Kendall Street Bushcare Group Oxley removed Mile-a-Minute vines (Ipomoea cairica) and other weeds from native trees in Kendall Street bushland.
Following their morning's efforts bushcare volunteers enjoyed a cuppa in the shade along the Creek.
The combined efforts of volunteers on land and water shows an ongoing commitment to improve Oxley Creek environs.
The next community bushcare working bee will commence 8am Sunday 16 Nov at Kendall St.

A huge thank you to Oxley Creek Catchment Association CreekCare volunteers who gave up their time on Thursday morning for bushcare at Lawson & Kendall Street Bushcare Group Oxley.
Their combined efforts have reduced competition from introduced species growing around a number of native ground covers and vines in the remnant vine forest along Oxley Creek at Kendall St. While not everyone could stay for morning tea, those who could enjoyed a variety of foods after a vigorous morning's work.

Last Sunday morning a small group of Oxley volunteers got back to doing what they loving doing, removing exotic weeds from amongst native ground covers and vines at Lawson & Kendall St Bushcare site.
A small mountain of weeds were deposited under Council installed onsite composting mats.
Next community working bee is scheduled for Sunday 19 October 8-10am.
