📣 Call for Expressions of Interest – Ouyen Community Plan Key Reference Group
Are you passionate about the future of Ouyen? We’re inviting community members to join a Key Reference Group to help guide the development of the new Ouyen Community Plan.
This group will play an important role in shaping the vision and priorities for our town by providing local insight, sharing ideas, and helping ensure the plan reflects what matters most to our community.
We’re looking for a diverse mix of people who live, work, volunteer, or run a business in Ouyen and care about its future.
As a member of the Key Reference Group, you will:
• Provide local knowledge and feedback throughout the planning process
• Help identify key opportunities and challenges for Ouyen
• Act as a sounding board for ideas and community priorities
Time commitment: A small number of check-ins over the coming months. We can work around what suits you!

The Australian Government Mobile Service Centre is coming to Ouyen!
📅 Thursday 19 February 2026
⏰ 9.00am to 3.30pm
📍 Adjacent to the library, Cooper Street, Ouyen
If you live rurally, this is a great chance to get face-to-face support and information on government payments and services including Centrelink, Medicare and support for veterans.
Their team provides support for families, older Australians, students, job seekers, people with disability, carers, farmers, and self-employed people.

As a result of the statewide Total Fire Ban the majority of our local landfills and transfer stations will be closed tomorrow (Sunday 11th)
The Ouyen Landfill will be the only facility open. Mildura Rural City Council apologises for any inconvenience

The CFA (Country Fire Authority) has declared a Total Fire Ban for the whole state of Victoria tomorrow, Sunday 11 January 2026.
No fires can be lit, or be allowed to remain alight, in the open air from 12:01 AM until 11:59 PM. more information: www.cfa.vic.gov.au/firebans

Please note, due to tomorrow’s Total Fire Ban declaration for Victoria, the Ouyen Landfill will operate earlier in the day than usual, allowing residents access before the peak of the forecast temperature for tomorrow.

It will open at 8am and close at midday.

Normal hours will resume on Sunday 11 January.

Tomorrow - Friday 19th December has been declared a TOTAL FIRE BAN day.
Please also be aware that the OUYEN LANDFILL will be closed because of it and will reopen on Sunday Dec 21st.
