Ormeau Scout Group delivers real life skills to youth from 5-18 years of age. Ormeau Scout Group has 4 youth member sections.

Scouting also allows adult volunteers to upskill their skills and passions for the betterment of the community. All sections meet during Queensland State School terms. Joey Scouts is for 5 to 8 year old girls and boys. They meet on Wednesday nights from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Cub Scouts is for 8 to 11 year old girls and boys. They meet on Tuesday nights from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Scouts is for 11 to 15 yea

r old girls and boys. They meet on Wednesday nights from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Venturers is for 15 to 18 year old females and males. All Scout Groups are operated by adult volunteers. Without these persons, we simply would not exist! If interested in volunteering with our Group, please email us now!

Last week we farewelled Simone, also known as Trash Panda, our amazing Scout Section Leader - for nearly six years she has been volunteering to provide amazing opportunities to the Scout Section. BRAVO and we wish you well on your next adventure!

This week our Group held our Linking Night to celebrate youth moving up to a new Section, the investiture of new youth and adults plus special awards. We hold this event once a term and make these special events memorable for our Scouts and their families.

We also welcomed back Dannii and Bridget from the Downer Group who presented World Environment Day badges out in recognition of our Group’s activities in support of sustainable development goals and the environment! BRAVO!

BRAVO to our youth and younger volunteers for always going above and beyond for our community and Scouting! This week is National Youth Volunteering Week - Scouts support this initiative by youth leading and adults supporting.

Directly and indirectly our Scouts provide positive change, leadership and support to a wide range of topics and people.

Fantastic weekend of Scouting at Operation Nighthawk just outside of Clifton. ⚜️

Our Scouts were the first Scout patrol away and first to come back in just after 10pm - certainly broke all of our Group records, we didn’t expect them back until at least 1am!!!

Our two Venturers took part with Palm Beach Scout Group Venturers and also smashed a great time! Reports of lions should be viewed with scepticism 🦁😆

We also we able to help out Palm Beach with lessons in firelighting, thank you for your help and taking care of our Venturers! Don’t drink the water!!! 🤪😆😉

BRAVO to Bella / Shepherd, Jared / Brolga and Peter / Phoenix for making the weekend seamless.

Over the weekend some of our Joeys attended Joey Jaunt which also coincided with World Scarf Day!

Our Joeys took part in amazing, fun and adventurous activities including abseiling, archery, low ropes and many more. Get in touch today if your 5-17 year wants to get involved in similar amazing opportunities!

Tonight our Group held our traditional Campfire Night with amazing skits, songs, jokes and performances from our youth and Leaders. Always amazing to see young people get up and let their creativity flow!

We also invested new youth, linked up youth from old to new Sections, handed out badges and cheered Fraser for achieving his Grey Wolf peak award.

BRAVO Ormeau! We are immensely proud of our youth and adult volunteers.

Thank you Charlie for the video of the night, it certainly was special!

Our Group held a Clean Up Australia Day event at Orange Mountain Road Park this morning - BRAVO to those that were able to attend! Thankfully the rain stayed away!!

Always random as to what we find, from single use plastics, to food wrappers to a terracotta pipe!
