Blacktown u13s Warriors made history for their association last Thursday taking out the u13s January Carnivals shield for the very first time taking on top team Parramatta White in the final at Orange's famous Wade Park.
Parramatta batted first and although they had dominated teams with the bat on the first three days on Final day it was not to be. Blacktown bowled well, particularly player of the final Ayaan Patel who took 4 / 4. Once the route started it can be hard to turn it around and so it proved for Parra. They were bowled out for 52.
Although there were a few tense moments for Blacktown especially as they lost three wickets on the way to the target, the batters were able to prevail and take the win.
The team played in good spirit throughout the tournament and the joy as they held aloft the shield was clear to all.
Congratulations to Parra White for reaching the final and their approach throughout the week.
And massive congratulation to Blacktown . . .

Congratulations Ayaan u13s January Carnivals Player of the Final as voted by the Umpires.
Ayaan ripped through the top order of the Parra White team who had been one of the top batting teams of the carnival.
Taking Four for Four with five maidens from his eight overs (8.5.4.4) any day would be an achievement but in the final it set his team up for a famous victory.
Congratulations Ayaan on a fantastic performance.

Tuesday Jan 13 - City came out victorious in the T20 Invitational under lights at Wade Park. It was a wonderful exhibition of young cricketers from around NSW and ACT.
Husband and wife umpiring team Dave & Kathryn Warburton took their first big game together.
City batted first and scored a big 140 with some excellent stroke play and running between wickets. Darcy from Paramatta led hi steam well.
Although the Country run chase got off to a flying start with Mitch Cosier from Dubbo scoring 31 from 14 balls before retiring the City spinner slowed the pace in the middle overs and from then on Country were playing catch up. a fantastic game. Thanks everyone for supporting the players.

And rounding out Day 3. Orange's own Darcy Mitchell taking three wickets against Manly. Well done Darcy!
