💙 Celebrating 100 Years of Service in Portland! 💙

A wonderful milestone for our St Vincent de Paul Society Portland Conference, honoured with an Apostolic Blessing in recognition of 100 years of service to the local community.

This special anniversary was celebrated on Sunday 27th of September during Mass at St Vincents Church Portland. Thanksgiving and prayer were led by Fr Reynold, giving thanks for a century of compassion, generosity and service.

Congratulations to the generations of St Vincent de Paul Portland Conference members who have shared Christ’s love over an entire century through caring for people in need and giving a hand up. Thank you for the incredible difference you have made in the Portland community over the past 100 years.

Here’s to continuing this wonderful legacy of kindness and service for generations to come!

💙 Bathurst Central Council Combined Regional Meeting💙

☀️The sun was shining and what a glorious spring day it was to welcome members from across our region to Orange recently for our Combined Regional Meeting.

💡 The meeting provided a great opportunity for members to come together, connect, share experiences and learn from one another, while strengthening relationships across our Conferences.🤝

🫶 Coming together like this is such an important part of supporting one another and strengthening the Society, our work and our mission.

👏A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the day, and especially to our members for their ongoing commitment, passion and dedication to supporting people in our local communities.

💙 It was a great day of connection, conversation and sharing and a wonderful reminder of the strength of St Vincent de Paul across the Bathurst Central Council Region.

Vinnies will be at the Successful Ageing Expo! 💙

Come along and celebrate the International Day of Older Persons at the Successful Ageing Expo on Thursday 1 October.

Our Vinnies team will be there to chat about the work we do in our local community and how you can get involved in supporting people doing it tough in your community.

Volunteering isn’t just about giving back — it can also be a wonderful way to stay connected, meet new people, learn new skills and support your own sense of purpose and wellbeing.

💙 Young people making a real difference in their communities!

The Vinnies Service Medallion gives secondary students all across NSW, and right here in the Central West, have the chance to get involved in community service, learn more about social justice and have their contribution formally recognised.

It’s free, flexible and students can take part through their school or independently.

Across NSW, hundreds of young people are stepping up, giving back and making a meaningful difference in their communities through the Vinnies Service Medallion.

The Vinnies Service Medallion is a youth recognition program that encourages and celebrates community service, social justice engagement and active citizenship.

Open to secondary-aged students the program provides a structured pathway for young people to serve their communities, support people experiencing disadvantage and develop a deeper understanding of social justice.

At its heart, the Vinnies Service Medallion shares the same mission that inspires the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW every day: supporting people in need, standing alongside our communities and turning compassion into action.
