Visit Molong Museum on Sunday 26 July for the grand opening of its latest exhibit – the old wooden lock up!!! The Lockup is now standing in the Museum grounds. It originally came from the Manildra Police Station. Congratulations on the community effort to make this happen!

Discover the stories that shaped our region with a visit to the Molong Museum this weekend! 🏛️ Explore fascinating local history, unique artefacts, heritage displays and the grand opening of the Lock-Up. Celebrations are from 11am on the 26th of July. Sausage sizzle available all day, bushranger songs by Geoff Tonkin and more.

Mark history in Lucknow this weekend!

LUCKNOW IS GOLD:

✨Celebrate 175 years of Lucknow gold!!! ✨

The Orange region is celebrating a glittering milestone on the weekend - 175 years since gold was discovered at Lucknow!!!

The discovery changed the course of our local history, transforming our region almost overnight and drawing prospectors from across Australia and overseas.

Everyone is invited to step back in time this Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July to explore Lucknow and the iconic Wentworth Mine, where it all began!

Wentworth Mine will be open from 10am–2.30pm both days. Free entry. Bring the family and discover the stories behind one of Australia’s earliest goldfields. And rug up!!

Also try your luck with gold panning behind Larder & Home and snap photos with costumed characters dressed in gold rush era costume.

And the Men's Shed will be doing some handwork with old tools, wood carving and old furniture repairs
