After a very successful Introduction to Cards for Children last October Bewdley Bridge Club is holding another session during February Half Term and, in addition, the club is trialling 2 family sessions as well.
So please spread the word, come along, and bring either family or friends to an Introduction to Bridge.

Finally some pictures from the Malvern Congress, which was again a great success this year. The Swiss Pairs in particular was the largest gathering of players in Worcestershire, with more than 100 people playing, since Lockdown. The Swiss Teams wasn't far behind with only just short of 100 participants. So, here are the Pairs winners, Alastar Catchpole and Dan McIntosh, and the Teams winners, Ian Walsh, Jack Terry, Stefan Lindfors and Rob Lawy.

In addition, our very own Mike Vetch was presented with the Dimmie Fleming award by the WCBA Chair, Richard Jephcott, for all the considerable contribution to bridge in Worcestershire over many years. Well done Mike.👏

It's worth reminding everyone that both the Swiss Pairs and the Swiss Teams at the Malvern Congress (quick date check - 25th & 26th October) are, as the name suggests, run on Swiss scoring lines. After a random draw for the first round, you'll be playing against people with similar scores to yourselves. That means that you're likely to be playing against players of similar ability which, obviously, means more fun and less stress for all.

Bewdley Bridge Club is running a FREE Introduction to Cards on Wednesday 29th October. See attached for details (it runs in two sessions, morning or afternoon) and please make sure you register with Eileen if you, and/or your children, are intending to come along and join in the fun.

If anyone is interested in seeing some world class bridge, you might want to drop into the WBF World Tour Finals next Wednesday and Thursday. Note that the times are Central USA time, so 5 hours behind us (I think!). Add in that RealBridge will add half an hour and the sessions will start at 4.30 our time on Wednesday and 3.30 our time on Day 2.

The World Bridge Federation World Tour Final will take place from 12-13 March, in Memphis.  Two of the 16 players in the final are EBU members, Espen Erichsen & Richard Plackett.
