Every year on the 3rd of September we celebrate Australian National Flag Day.

This day commemorates the day in 1901 on which the Australian National Flag was first flown.

Prime Minister Edmund Barton announced the winners of the official 1901 Federal Flag Design Competition, and revealed the design of the Australian flag which is flown to this day and represents this great nation.

let us remember all Australians who have proudly served under this flag for the last 123 years

Congratulations to the current and former Australian Defence Force personnel recognised in the Australian Bravery Decorations Wattle Day 2026 Honours List.

Thirteen current and former ADF personnel have been recognised for serving with UNAMET in East Timor in 1999, and have been awarded the Group Bravery Citation.
