HIPPY Australia wants to make sure HIPPY Taree-Forster continues to reflect the needs and strengths of our community.
For all HIPPY sites that focus on working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, including our site, HIPPY are exploring whether the program could be even more accessible and culturally strong if it were delivered by an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO), or through a partnership led by one. At the same time, we want to make sure HIPPY remains a welcoming and supportive space for all families.
What happens next depends on your input – each HIPPY site going through this process is different, and community voice will shape our site’s future.
To understand your needs, how HIPPY can best support you and what might work in our community, CCC have partnered with HIPPY Australia and are facilitating a community session at our HIPPY site
This session will be led by Jason and Marissa Elsegood from CCC, an independent organisation separate from HIPPY Australia, who will make sure your views are heard and reflected in a community voice report.
This report and your thoughts will be key in deciding how HIPPY will be run at our site.
We want our community to have a voice!
