A rail with recreational path in our railway corridor works for everyone!

John from the USA onboard the Solar Train last month. Heโ€™s on a tour of Australia by bike at the moment. Go John!

Camping in town, John spent the morning exploring the Arts & Industrial Estate (think Stone & Wood Brewery, op-shops, cafes, bakeries, and the North Byron Hotel). But just as he was about to ride his bike back into town, the rain started coming down. After seeing he could take his bike on the train (or your surfboards, prams, and luggage too) he jumped onboard and took the scenic (and dry!) journey back into town ๐Ÿš‚โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿšด

MILDURA PASSENGER RAIL - BUSTING THE MYTHS!

1. It could never be financially viable... but.. it could be!

๐Ÿ‘A tourist railway in the Gulf has reopened today (Wednesday) after a wetter-than-usual summer led to prolonged flooding of the line.

๐Ÿ›ค๏ธThe heritage-listed Gulflander is affectionately known as the train from 'nowhere to nowhere' running between Normanton and Croydon in the Gulf Country.

๐Ÿ’ฌCandice Heine from Queensland Rail said there's been high demand for tickets to today's first service of the year, after a challenging season for engineers

The Gulflander also has a new Officer in Charge, Dwayne Hansen, who said he couldn't wait to get on track and show customers everything on offer.

๐Ÿ’ฌโ€œI've recently moved from Townsville to drive the Gulflander, after working 16 years in the control centre and in track maintenance at Queensland Rail," Mr Hansen said.

The Gulflander season will run until October 2026, with a multitude of tours and excursions available.

JOHN STEWART IS A VISIONARY WHEN IT COMES TO REIMAGINING OUTDATED EDUCATION AND BRINGING IT INTO LINE IN OUR MODERN WORLD HE ALSO WANTS OUR TRAINS BACK AS PUBLIC TRANSPORT- The founder and driving force behind Lismore's Living School, John Stewart, gave a rousing, inspirational talk to the many members of Business Lismore collected together in a part of their new space, deep in the CBD at the recent Lismore Business After Hours.
After his welcoming speech John guided the crowd through the multiple labyrinthine rooms and spaces that make up this future learning centre, where learning will focus on student- based paths of inquiry and creativity.
John Stewart very much wants to see regular trains as public transport connecting Lismore to the rest of the Northern Rivers and signed NRRL's BUSINESS LETTER OF SUPPORT - he is also a great train enthusiast himself!
