Ocean Grove Playgroup Association has been offering its service to the wider Bellarine community since 1981. We are very proud to have been recognised as one of the top 4 regional Playgroup's in the state in 2016, as well as our past President being recognised as one of the top 5 Playgroup Leaders. Meeting every Friday during school terms from 10 - 12pm, the playgroup endeavours to provide a stimu
lating environment for children aged 0-5 years to learn through play and interaction with other children and adults. It provides children with both an indoor and outdoor space. Arts and crafts are set up each week as well as separate work stations for children to freely move between. These stations promote and encourage development with fine motor-skills, dexterity, language and socialisation. We encourage a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for mums, dads and carers to meet up with other adults and share parenting skills and experience. The children are also offered a healthy morning tea of fresh fruit provided from a local small business as well as sandwiches and other nutritious snacks. We apply for grants to allows us to invite local business to attend a session once a term to facilitate a fun and educational activity for the children to participate in. This can be anything from martial arts, cooking to dancing and movement. We even like to take the children out on excursions to different parts of the Bellarine to explore and get in touch with nature.
