Whether you’re a returning member or thinking about joining for the first time, we’d love to welcome you to another fantastic season at Denmark SLSC!

Surf lifesaving is about more than keeping our beaches safe. It’s about friendship, teamwork, learning new skills and being part of a community that looks out for one another.

From active patrols and surf rescue to volunteering, social activities and supporting our club, there’s a place for everyone!

🌊 **BACK IN THE WATER!** ❤️💛

What a way to kick off the season!

A big first day back for some of our patrolling members, who took on some pretty challenging conditions while completing their annual Skills Maintenance.

A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteer trainers for giving their time, sharing their knowledge and running some great sessions. We couldn't do it without you!

👏 Well done to everyone who got out there and gave it their all!

Deb plays a critical role behind the scenes, coordinating training and our fantastic team of trainers to make sure our clubbies and patrol members have the skills, qualifications and confidence they need.

From helping members gain new awards to keeping essential lifesaving skills current, Deb helps ensure we’re not just ready for the beach – we’re ready to keep our community safe.

Summer is getting closer and so is the start of another great season at Denmark Surf Life Saving Club.

👋Meet Mel Haymont, Vice-President of the Denmark SLSC. Mel picks up for the President and jumps in wherever needed to keep the club moving through the water.
Mel is a familiar face around Denmark SLSC and a great supporter of everything that makes our club tick – our members, our volunteers and our community.

We’re very glad to have Mel helping steer the ship this season! 🙌

Mel has been Vice President at Denmark Surf Lifesaving Club for the past 4 years and a Denmark local for 10 years.

What do you love most about DSLSC?
I have 2 grown boys, who gained a lot from the Club growing up.

Living in various parts of the WA coast all my life has given me great respect for the beauty & power of the ocean.

I work in emergency services & see how emergencies can impact the community and how these impacts can be mitigated through awareness & understanding.

😎 Meet Jo Tighe, our Youth Officer – although judging by appearances, she could probably still qualify as one of the youth!

Jo is our dedicated connection with our youth members of Denmark SLSC (13-18), helping make sure they feel involved, supported and part of club life as they grow from Nippers into confident young clubbies.

She’ll be helping create opportunities for our youth to build skills, friendships and leadership experience – while keeping the fun factor firmly intact. We’re very happy to have Jo looking out for the next generation of Denmark SLSC! 🌊🙌

How long have you been part of the club Jo?
I’ve been involved in surf clubs as a Nipper parent since 2017, moving to Denmark SLSC in 2021.

What do you love most about DSLSC?
The spectacular beach that we call home at DSLSC and the relaxed vibes.

🏄 Meet Chris Timms, our Surf Sports Officer! 🏅

Chris is our go-to guy for all things competition and gear – helping our clubbies get involved in surf sports, keeping the equipment in check and making sure we’re ready when it’s time to race.

Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or keen to give surf sports a go for the first time, Chris is the person to see. Thanks Chris for helping keep Denmark SLSC active, competitive and ready to hit the beach! 💪🌊

Here's the low-down on Chris:

This is my third season with Denmark SLSC, although I’ve been involved in surf lifesaving for over 20 years.

What do you love most about DSLSC?
I love the family feel of Denmark SLSC. It’s the first surf club I’ve been part of with my own family, and I love watching the kids get excited about Nippers, enjoy being part of the club and develop their skills.

Favourite thing to do at the beach?
Catching waves. The bigger the better.
