We are looking for performers aged 8 – 18 to join us for the 2026 Junior Theatre Festival Australia - the biggest celebration of youth musical theatre in Australia!
Held on the 30th and 31st of October 2026, at the Civic Theatre in Newcastle, NSW, our group will present a 15 minute performance for adjudication, and take part in workshops run by Broadway and Australian theatre professionals! Learn from the best, sing, dance, act, make friends and have fun!

Our most favourite Junior Theatre Festival Australia is happening and we will be there once again to have the best time ever!
Imagine being surrounded by musical theatre loving kids from all over Australia (and all over the world!) as you learn from professionals, become inspired by those around you and celebrate everything there is to love about musicals at the Civic Theatre, Newcastle!

One week ago, we said goodbye to Newsies Jr, a show that had been on our wishlist for years, and was finally put on the stage to a very appreciative audience.

From day 1, we knew we had something special. Throughout the rehearsals, our cast were expertly guided by our production team and challenged to grow as actors, singers and dancers. Every time the bar was raised, they worked even harder, resulting in a show that was packed with brilliant characters, stunning vocals and energetic dancing, not to mention, full of heart.

We couldn't have asked for a better send off for our final show, performing to a full house that gave us an extended standing ovation - a testament to the hard work and effort put in by every single person involved in the show.

We carried the banner, seized every day and used our pretty faces to determine who was the King of New York. The world will know that if you watch what happens when Brooklyn's here, there is no letter from any refuge that could change our minds. For once and for all - this production of Newsies Jr will forever hold a special place in our hearts - and we will always have Santa Fe.

These super keen kids absolutely smashed it at the OzTheatrics Pilot Program Workshop this past week, auditioning, rehearsing and performing a prospective Broadway Jr show in less than 5 days.

Working with a professional production team, they showed focus, professionalism and a surprising amount of energy given that 5 of them had just finished performing Newsies Jr!

We are so proud of you all - what a bunch of superstars!
