Congratulations to SACWA Balhannah, Oakbank and District Branch members Deidre and Kate Ryder and Barbara Mitchell for being finalists in the Southern Country Shows Presentation Evening for Junior Cookery, Open Cookery, Jams and Preserves. Well done ladies for this recognition and again demonstrating alliance with our organisation’s vision of ‘Sharing And Caring With Action’.
We look forward to Deidre, Kate and Barbara sharing their culinary skills at one of our ‘chat and do’ branch meetings on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Contact our SACWA branch if you would like to join us at our new location at St Michael’s Lutheran Church meeting room, cnr Balhannah Rd and Church St Hahndorf.
We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday night at 6:30pm, hoping you can join us.

A great morning was had by all at the SACWA Market Day, Dequetteville Tce at State Office.
The SACWA Balhannah Oakbank Districts Branch tried something new for us and sold cheese picnic/snack boxes. Local strawberries were a hit as was the cheese!
It’s starting to feel like Christmas is just around the corner 🎄😊🎉

Christmas is almost here!
Come and join us at the Oakbank Hall this Tuesday 26/11/24 at 6:30pm to make Christmas decorations🎄
The SACWA Balhannah Oakbank and District Branch plan to make air dried clay Christmas decorations.
All it takes is good company, water, cornstarch and baking soda and some time to ‘Chat and Do.’

Remembrance Day – Lest We Forget
Remembrance Day is a Memorial Day observed on the 11th November in Commonwealth member
states and several other non-Commonwealth countries since the end of the First World War to
honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.
This year the South Australian Country Women’s Association (SACWA) Balhannah Oakbank and
Districts Branch have banded together to install hand-made poppies at the Oakbank Soldiers
Memorial Hall in preparation for Remembrance Day.
The SACWA Balhannah Oakbank and Districts members and guests have enjoyed coming together to make poppies to honour fallen heroes.

SACWA Balhannah Oakbank and District Branch members Barbara Mitchell, Deidre Ryder and Kate
Ryder recently demonstrated their alliance with our organisation’s vision of ‘Sharing And Caring With
Action’ at both the Strathalbyn and Uraidla Shows.
The family of three generations proved multi-award winning baking skills, with all three taking out
prizes in multiple categories inclusive of small and large cakes, novice preserves, breads and pastries,
scones and party food in both ‘Open’ and ‘Junior Cookery’ categories.
Well done to this talented trio of home cooks, we look forward to them sharing their culinary skills at
one of our ‘chat and do’ branch meetings on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
