Thank you so much to Bishop Andrew Brook from the Lutheran Church of Australia - SA & NT for joining us last Monday to bless the new Barossa Community Centre, the work it will do in the community, and the people who will make it happen.

We really appreciate your time, support and blessing as we begin this new chapter.

β€œThis is only the beginning. We want the Barossa Community Centre to keep growing and evolving with the people who walk through its doors; whether that’s through a community garden, youth activities, wellbeing programs, volunteering or ideas we haven’t even thought of yet. We can’t wait to see what the Barossa creates here,” Lutheran Care Operations Manager Family and Community Services (Barossa, Light & Lower North), Helen Walker said.

Lutheran Care's new Barossa Community Centre in Nuriootpa was officially opened on Thursday 26 August and is a first for the Barossa region.

Before Thursday's official Barossa Community Centre opening event, we were pleased to welcome Lutheran Church of Australia SA-NT District Bishop Andrew Brook, who took the time out of his busy schedule to bless the building on Monday ☺️

Bishop Andrew shared a lovely message with the small group who gathered for the occasion, with Lutheran Care's Operations Manager Family and Community Services Helen Walker also speaking about the centre's operation and vision.

We are so proud of how our centre has come together in recent months. The building has undergone a huge transformation and we can't wait to welcome more members of the community soon as details of new programs become available.

What a fantastic turnout for our Barossa Community Centre official opening event yesterday πŸ™Œ

About 80 people, including members from the local community, donors and program partners, gathered to celebrate the establishment of the region's first community centre.

Several Lutheran Care staff members spoke at the event, as well as Barossa Council Mayor Bim Lange and a very special Chatty Cafe participant.

Guests were also treated to a lovely performance by Adelaide-born Tenor Callum McGing, as part of Lutheran Care's partnership with State Opera South Australia.

We will be sharing some more details from the day soon, so keep a look out on our socials πŸ‘€

A big thank you to everyone who attended yesterday and to the community groups and local businesses who have given so generously to support this event and the centre's operation πŸ™
