NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is hosting a free community information session in Huskisson.

Hear directly from experts from NSW DPIRD, NSW Health, National Parks and Wildlife Service and Local Land Services about:
- the current H5 bird flu situation in NSW
- the response underway
- public health considerations
- practical steps the community can take to help reduce biosecurity risks.

The session will also provide an opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns with agency representatives.

With recent H5 bird flu detections in NSW, we're partnering with NSW Health, Local Land Services, National Parks and Wildlife Service and local councils to bring the latest information to communities affected by these events.

These free information sessions are a chance to find out what’s happening, what’s being done in response and what you can do to help reduce the risk of spread.

There’ll also be plenty of time to ask questions and chat with the people working on the response.

H5 Bird Flu Briefing for Agricultural Shows

AgShows NSW strongly encourages Show committees, poultry stewards and poultry exhibitors connected with a local agricultural show to attend an important online briefing presented by the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

The briefing will provide an update on the current H5 bird flu situation in NSW, including disease reporting, surveillance and response activities, biosecurity measures, and preparedness for showgrounds and community events.

Participants will also learn about the important role agricultural shows play in supporting awareness, early detection and the sharing of accurate information to help protect NSW’s poultry industries, wildlife and communities.

Meeting details have been emailed directly to AgShows NSW Member Societies.

Each Member Society is strongly encouraged to arrange for at least one committee representative to attend and to share the meeting details directly with relevant poultry stewards and exhibitors involved with their Show.
