Wild to***co is in seed now. Bag them if it is practical. Today was a few sites in Kangaroo Valley. Illawarra Subtropical Rainforest can be very quickly degraded if pockets of to***co like this one establish. It shades out the natives that should be filling the gaps.

Some jobs are particularly gratifying. Here is remnant Robertson Rainforest Threated Ecological Community. It is pretty healthy but we still have to crawl into every nook to get sporadic blackberry, privet and inkw**d.

Two days late but here's my National Eucalypt Day photo. We're on two week's holiday in SW WA. These are some of the eucalyptus diversicolour, aka, Karri. Learned yesterday that taproots grow up to 60m long and anchor in a corkscrew fashion. Multiple had made their way into the main crystal chamber of Jewel Cave south of Margaret River.

Despite research into herd reduction indicating that dominant stags should not be shot until all females have been taken, sometimes, like Wednesday night, there are no other deer to shoot so the stag falls. That said, we've shot three females here before this one.
