We’re excited to welcome Dr Ben Sykes for a new three-part Pony Club Australia webinar series exploring horse welfare, management and behaviour.

Dr Sykes is a world-renowned expert in Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome and veterinary internal medicine, with more than 27 years of clinical experience. He is board-certified in large animal internal medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Across this series, Dr Sykes will help us look at the horse as a whole, starting with gastric ulcers, then moving into forage, routine and behaviour.

Each webinar has been designed to build on the last.

Webinar 1: Ulcers as a Welfare Window
What are ulcers, what might they tell us, and why should they prompt us to look beyond the stomach?

Webinar 2: Forage, Routine and the Modern Horse
How do everyday management choices support gut health, welfare and emotional wellbeing?

Webinar 3: When Behaviour Changes: Looking at the Whole Horse
When a horse’s behaviour changes, how do we ask better questions and look at the whole horse?

This series is highly relevant for riders, parents, coaches, club volunteers and anyone involved in caring for horses.

We want as many people as possible to see this, so we’ll keep the algorithm happy and pop each registration link in a separate comment below.
