The SAE team and Australia Kannada Okkuta members are deeply devastated by the tragic news of the untimely demise of Savithakka’s younger son. The shocking news reached us yesterday morning while we were having breakfast with Savithakka. It struck us all like a lightning bolt. Witnessing her emotional breakdown was heartbreaking, and we were unable to console her in that moment of immense grief.

We immediately arranged the next available flight from Sydney to Bengaluru. All our team members accompanied her to the airport, and we coordinated with Singapore Airlines to ensure that the crew provided her with the care and support needed during the journey. She has now safely landed in Bengaluru. We sincerely hope she finds the strength to face her family and navigate this unimaginable loss.

During her stay with us over the past few days, Savithakka became like a family member. Many of our team members had the opportunity to speak to her younger son over a video call—he was such a sweet and kind-hearted young man. It’s still hard to believe that he is no longer with us.

Following such a beautiful Janapada Sanje event in Sydney and Newcastle—where Savithakka mesmerised the Sydney Kannadigas with her heartfelt music—this heartbreaking tragedy has shaken us all.

Life is indeed uncertain and unpredictable. Let us be kind to one another, and never take our loved ones for granted. Take care of your families and friends—because we never know what tomorrow might bring

ಸಾಗರದಾಚೆ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮೈಲಿಗಳ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ, ತುಸು ನೋವಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಕುಟುಂಬಂದಿಂದ ದೂರಾಗಿ, ನೂರಾರು ಹೊಸ ಆಸೆ, ಕನಸುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಓಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಯಣ ಒಂಟಿ ಎನಿಸದೆ ಇರಲು ಕಾರಣ "ಕನ್ನಡ"!✨
