Did you marvel at Gary Hambleton’s incredible pieces during our recent In the Quiet of the Land exhibition? Now is your chance to learn directly from the master himself!

Southern Forest Arts is thrilled to bring to our community the "Of the Land" Pottery Masterclass with Gary Hambleton. Because we believe in nurturing our local creative community, this exclusive workshop is highly subsidized, making world-class artistic mentorship accessible right here at Old Stables Pottery & Gallery in Mullalyup.

Gary brings an extraordinary wealth of knowledge spanning ancient Nepalese techniques, reduction firings, and a deep understanding of form. His practice offers a powerful lens into how place informs making using regional clay bodies and minerals.

Spaces will be limited for this exclusive event. Scan the QR code in the attached flyer to book your spot today!

Proudly supported by Southern Forest Arts, Lotterywest, Regional Arts WA, Shire of Manjimup, and Old Stables Pottery & Gallery.

Catalpa – Flight to Freedom at Bridgetown Town Hall on 30 May was much more than an outstanding performance by Theatre 180.

The day began with an engaging Acting Workshop and an exclusive Behind the Scenes Tour, giving participants a unique insight into the production process. Behind everything, an amazing team of volunteers helped make the event a success – from setting up and packing away chairs, checking tickets, ushering patrons and assisting with the door raffle, to providing a delicious morning tea the following day courtesy of Pip’s Pottery Restaurant.

These photos capture some of the many smiling faces who attended, along with the lucky winner of the signed book Catalpa – Escape to Freedom by Mike and Joy Lefroy.

With a full house and wonderful community support, it was a fantastic weekend shared with Theatre 180. We are delighted to announce we will be presenting another Theatre 180 event next year with another exceptional production! 🎭✨

🌸 Reconciliation isn't just a one week 'tick-the-box must-do' it's an ongoing commitment; a shared pathway towards a brighter future for all 🌸

Over the next few months we're supporting and their inspiring contribution to the national Sorry Day Flower Project.

We're offering to hold free flower making sessions in town's across the Southern Forests & Valleys region. Please get in touch if you'd like our team to come to your town. We can provide the materials and guidance.

Together we'll create handmade flowers to honour the stories of the Stolen Generations and ensure these stories continue to be seen, felt and remembered.

The flowers will be sent to a large-scale community art installation to be showcased at the Reconciliation Walk in October 2026, representing collective remembrance, shared responsibility and healing across generations.

As the team at South West Aboriginal Women's Collective say:
"This is about more than making flowers…
It’s about holding space, sharing truth, and walking together towards healing.
We would be honoured to have your community be part of this."
