IT'S AGM TIME!!

VFRS Brigades must hold an AGM each year to cover brigade business and allow the membership to elect the brigade leadership team for the new financial year.

We had a great year and even with work and personal commitments, we all came together for our community, which is at the heart of volunteering - helping out our community when needed.

A big thank you to the outgoing leadership team members and congratulations to the new Leadership Group.

This is the 2026/2027 Leadership Group and their positions which take effect now.

Leadership:

Captain - Scott Rintoul

Apparatus Officer - Graham Patterson

1st Lieutenant - Bronson Bean

2nd Lieutenant - Richard Hall

Secretary - Lucy Patterson

Treasurer - Erica Brown

Training last night was Breathing Apparatus (B.A.) refresher, a simulation shed fire and rescue. The crew donned BA in a smoke filled shed and had to rescue "people" (DFES dummies) from inside. It was a great exercise and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you to Mel Ismail and Brent Allen for coming up a hosting. And thanks again for Somewhere To Go for the delicious catering! Also, a shout out and thank you to all the volunteers who help construct our "fake" room for the exercise!

Last week May from REED daycare here in Northampton invited us to show the children our vehicles and equipment. Everyone had a great time 🚒🚒

Tonight’s training was based on road crash recovery. Familiarising with our equipment and practicing the removal of car doors, roofs, bonnets, steering wheels and seatbelts.

Yesterday's Road Crash Rescue training turned into a real "no‑duff" when we were turned out to an actual crash.
Huge credit to the team for switching gears instantly — tools packed, LT and HSR rolling out the door, and on scene without missing a beat. Great work team 🙌

A great catch up tonight with Tim Sonsee, the Executive Officer for the VFRS Accosiation of WA Volunteer Fire & Rescue Services Association of WA Inc We had some good laughs, plus Tim filled us in on what has been happening for the association recently and what is in the pipeline for the future. A great catch up as always 🙌 Cheers for the visit Tim! 😁 Thanks again to Raylene for the great catering Somewhere To Go 👌
