Join us on Friday, the 28th of August, for our first Chinese Cancer Support Group, jointly presented by San Cancer Support Centre & CanRevive Inc. 更生會.

We are pleased to introduce this new Support Group, created specifically to support members of our Cantonese- and Mandarin-speaking community.

This group provides a safe, welcoming and culturally inclusive space for people affected by cancer, including patients, carers and family members, to come together, share their experiences, find support and connect with others who understand what they are going through.

The group is facilitated by Anges Lung, Support Service Coordinator of the Northern Sydney Region.

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome Independent Member for Bradfield, Nicolette Boele MP, for a visit to the hospital and an opportunity to learn about the care and services we provide the local community, and meet some of the people who make that care possible every day.

Nicolette joined CEO Brett Goods, San Foundation Managing Director Judy Tanna and Chief Medical Officer Dr Nicole Phillips for a tour of the hospital, taking in our birthing suites, Knight Ward, MDT conference room, the Robert and Jeanne Szeto PET-CT Centre and Clinical Education Centre.

We look forward to continuing to build a strong and productive relationship with Nicolette and working together in support of our community.

It’s National Stroke Week! 🧠

This year’s ‘F.A.S.T. Heroes’ campaign highlights the importance of recognising the signs of stroke and calling an ambulance immediately. Every minute counts, with up to 1.9 million brain cells lost every minute a stroke goes untreated.

To mark the week, Stroke CNC Krista, Radley NUM Lovely and the team have been visiting departments across the hospital with activities and giveaways to help our staff and patients recognise the warning signs.

Know the signs. Be a F.A.S.T. Hero.

Last night, we brought our Practice Managers together at Roseville Golf Club for an evening of Le Jardin Noir elegance, filled with dark florals, candlelight and connection.

A beautiful opportunity to strengthen the bonds within our San community and celebrate the important role our Practice Managers play in helping us deliver exceptional care to our patients.

This week is National Diabetes Week, an opportunity to raise awareness and recognise the millions of Australians living with the condition every day. Diabetes remains one of Australia's fastest growing chronic health conditions, highlighting the importance of education, early intervention and ongoing support.

At the San, our dedicated Diabetes Educators, Paz and Roshan, support both inpatients and outpatients to confidently manage their diabetes. Working with patients on the wards and through the Diabetes Clinic, they provide education on blood glucose management, healthy eating, physical activity, diabetes technologies and treatment options to help people live well with their condition.

Today, Paz hosted an information table offering staff and visitors practical advice and demonstrating some of the latest diabetes devices available to support patients in managing their condition.

Last week, our Emergency Department celebrated Australasian College for Emergency Medicine's (ACEM) Wellness Week.

Throughout the week, staff enjoyed a variety of events, including a Taste of Childhood baking competition, Seedling Swap, and Crazy Scrubs Day.

The initiative reflects the ACEM Wellbeing Framework, which recognises that clinician wellbeing is essential to delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality patient care. Alongside individual resilience, the framework highlights the importance of supportive workplace cultures, meaningful recognition and strong team connections.

The week was a wonderful reminder that caring for ourselves is an important part of caring for others 💙
