A wonderful morning was shared yesterday as we celebrated and thanked our onsite Allied Health professional, our physiotherapist from Guide, for the care, encouragement, and support provided to our residents.

Residents put their strength, balance, and mobility to the test at North Sydney during a fun mini sports morning before enjoying a delicious morning tea together. It was a fantastic opportunity to recognise the important role allied health professionals play in helping our residents stay active, independent, and engaged.

James Milson Village ILU hosted Lady Lynne Cosgrove on Friday at our monthly morning tea. We heard a little about her life as the wife of the former Governor General.

We also enjoyed the piano of a very talented musician Alistair Lee with his guide dog sitting closely by his side. A memorable morning tea indeed!

This year, Queenwood Girls’ School celebrates its 101st birthday, having been established on 21 September 1925.

Each year, Queenwood students continue a beautiful tradition by bringing flowers to the residents of James Milson Village to mark the school’s birthday. It is a thoughtful gesture that brings two generations of our local community together and is always warmly appreciated by our residents.

For more than 100 years, Queenwood has encouraged girls to know themselves, connect with others and explore big ideas with curiosity and empathy. We are delighted to be part of this wonderful tradition and to celebrate another year of Queenwood with our friends in the school community.

Behind every pair of hands is a lifetime of stories.

The hands that raised families, built careers, created beautiful things, cared for others, mastered skills and pursued passions all tell a story about the person behind them.

Our Every Hand Has a Story activity at both James Milson Village homes gave residents the opportunity to share some of those stories and celebrate the experiences that have shaped who they are.

Because dementia may change memory and communication, but it never takes away a person’s identity, personality or life story.

Every story deserves to be heard. Every person deserves to be known.

What an incredible day of connection, community and celebration at James Milson Village!

Seeing our JMV team come together and bring such energy, care and commitment to the day made us incredibly proud. With around 200 residents, families and guests in attendance, it was a fantastic success!

A special thank you to Karyn for the enormous effort, planning and time you invested in making the day so memorable. And yes, it turns out we really did need all those tables and chairs!

To our wonderful team, thank you for your contribution, enthusiasm and dedication. Days like this showcase everything that makes James Milson Village such a special place to live, work and belong.
