Have your say on the future of recreational fishing in NSW

The NSW Government is developing the Enhancing Recreational Fishing in NSW Action Plan 2026 to 2031, which is a five-year roadmap designed to make fishing even better for everyone who enjoys getting out on the water.

Recreational fishing supports local communities, improves wellbeing and connects people with our waterways. Fishers now have the chance to help shape what comes next, with community feedback open until 24 April 2026.

If you fish, run a fishing business, belong to a club, or simply care about the future of our fisheries, you can have your say in the link below.

🎣 On the water these school holidays? Keep your eyes peeled around Sydney! Searching for seagrass flowers and fruits is like a treasure hunt for fishos and kids!

Help us restore our seagrass meadows by reporting sightings of the endangered seagrass Posidonia australis in bloom.
