Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day. 🩷 And for millions of girls in disadvantaged communities, their period isn't just uncomfortable, it's the reason they miss school. No safe bathroom, no pads, no one to talk to. Just shame, isolation and another day of learning lost. That's period poverty. And it's happening right now.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, give a girl a better life. Our Better Life for Girls program is making in girls’ lives by:

✅ Building safe restroom facilities for girls at schools
✅ Training teachers, so girls feel supported during their periods
✅ Creating Girls' Clubs, where periods are talked about openly and proudly
✅ Providing menstrual health kits and other period resources at school.

A typhoon left a school in Eastern Samar with damaged toilet facilities, which can be particularly challenging for girls during menstruation. With six new girl-friendly classroom toilets built and core teachers trained, students now have the knowledge and resources to manage their periods with confidence at school.

When one teacher learns, an entire community benefits. After the Better Life for Girls menstrual health teacher training workshops were held, Ms Arias went home and shared what she'd learnt with her own daughter, extending the project’s impact beyond the classroom.
