Our mission is to champion local businesses and enable a thriving local economy. History

Melbourne’s inner north has played a huge role in the making and shaping of our city. A cattle yard was among the first structures built in the area by white settlers in the 1840s. By 1861, the borough of Hotham as it was known had 7,000 residents and by 1887, the area had an imposing town hall and a new name

– North Melbourne. Today the area’s striking and historic streetscapes and buildings have been recognised for their architectural and heritage significance, and the area retains a distinct ‘village’ atmosphere. Architectural highlights include the: North Melbourne Town Hall and The Meat Market (both now operating as contemporary arts spaces); Curzon Street Church; and Howard Street Anglican Church. The ornate Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, built in 1963, is definitely worth seeking out. North Melbourne is less than three kilometres from to the city and during the past few decades the area has attracted more and more young residents seeking the benefits of the inner city lifestyle. The North Melbourne Lifestyle Attractions

Combine this with automotive services, real estate, health services and of course both newsagent and post office, you hardly need to go anywhere else. Stay for a while and you’ll find shopkeepers start greeting you by name.

“I love making people feel beautiful — and reminding them to give more time to themselves.”

At Beauty Emergency Clinic in West Melbourne, registered nurse Nicole Petchpranee takes a preventative, medical-grade approach to aesthetics, focused on consistency, not quick fixes.

After years juggling nursing and her clinic seven days a week, Nicole went all-in on her business in 2022. Today, she works one-on-one with clients to design personalised treatment plans: from advanced skin therapies to perimenopause consultations, grounded in care, education and long-term results.

It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about feeling confident in your own skin.

“At P.T. Hub, we help everyday people to move better, build strength and become more confident.”

Step off busy Flemington Road and you’ll find something refreshingly different. Inside P.T. Hub, it’s not about ego or exhaustion — it’s about learning what your body is capable of, safely and steadily.

Owners Pavel Golubkov and Tania Avock took over the studio in 2025 and shaped it around their own coaching philosophy: small classes (capped at six), close attention, and efficient 30-minute sessions rooted in StrongFirst strength training. No one gets lost in the crowd. No one is pushed to breaking point.

Instead, members leave feeling stronger than when they walked in — sometimes in ways they didn’t expect.

“We want them to have a home with us,” Pavel says.

💪 Curious how this local studio is building strength — and community — in North Melbourne?
