Funding Centre

Funding Centre Where not-for-profits go for money The Funding Centre is the best place to go to get information on grants and fundraising in Australia.

The website and associated tools and newsletters are an initiative of Our Community, a world-leading social enterprise that provides advice, tools and training for Australiaโ€™s 600,000 community groups, as well as services for business, government and the general public. Like other Our Community initiatives, the Funding Centre is built around a self-sustaining social enterprise model. The EasyGrant

s Newsletter and associated grants database was created in 1995 as the first consolidated grants newsletter in Australia and went on to become the very first product of the Our Community Group. The online Funding Centre seeks to lead the fundraising knowledge revolution in Australia through the provision of low-cost or free information and tools, including online and hard copy materials and face-to-face training.

๐Ÿ’› Grant writing tip from the Funding Centre community:

"We take care to make sure our applications provide qualitative and quantitative examples of the success of our programs, and that we explain our programs and budgets accurately and succinctly."

Clear, honest storytelling backed by real numbers, that's what turns a good application into a funded one.

"One resident, who is mostly non-verbal, burst into beautiful song when she saw the dog." That's how Tracey Johns from Delta Therapy Dogs and a long-time member of Funding Centre, describes one of the small, powerful moments their volunteers and dogs create every day.

Moments like this are only possible because the programs stay funded. Over the past year, Delta Therapy Dogs applied for 70+ grants, with around a 1-in-4 success rate, by checking Funding Centre for new opportunities every month.

Their advice for other grassroots NFPs: use the new financial year to update your numbers and refresh your pitch, rather than reusing last year's application.
