The North Fremantle Social Club is a grassroots association that holds social and community events in the broader Fremantle area and seeks to establish a hub for arts, socialising, music, well-being and other community activities in North Fremantle. The NFSC are currently preparing a proposal for a member-run community centre at the site of the former North Freo Bowls Club. We recognise this site
is known and loved by many members of the community in both the North and greater Fremantle. Our proposal is for an engaging space in which we can host and foster a creative program of community events within a family friendly, social and inclusive atmosphere for all members of the community. We envisage a space that anyone would be happy to find themselves in, whether to have a drink and engage in a game on the grass, for a workshop, lecture, or spending time with family listening to a band on a Sunday afternoon. Spaces like this are far and few between and thrive through a shared sense of ownership and belonging.
