Whilst our beach is unpatrolled during the off-season and we do not recommend swimming, in the case of an emergency, please be reminded of the Public Rescue Equipment available on our beach and around our Club.

🦈 Shark Bite Kit (Lake St)
A Shark Bite Kit installed by Bite Aid – Community SBK, is located at the end of the sand walkway at Lake Street. It is mounted to the last timber fence post. It is a white, sealed, cylindrical container, clearly labelled Shark Bite Kit.

🧰 Kit contains;
A tourniquet
Bandages
Dressings
Emergency blanket
Emergency whistle
Nitrile gloves
Parts bag
Incident management cards.

⛑️ This kit is only to be opened in the event of severe bleeding. It is not to be used for general first aid.

🚑 Please remember - If you find someone in an emergent situation and you are in a condition to offer assistance, always assess the situation first, check for danger to yourself and any others, send for help - dial triple zero (000), call for help from people nearby, only enter the water with a flotation device, and never put your own life at risk.

The Facilities Gap: Why Demand is Outpacing Infrastructure

Across Australia, community sport is seeing strong participation growth without a corresponding expansion in infrastructure. Clubs are working with the same dated facilities, equipment, resources and training spaces, while trying to accommodate more members and longer seasons.
This often results in tighter schedules, reduced training access and increased wear and tear on facilities.

Clubs must be proactive and plan ahead to secure funding and deliver meaningful facility improvements.

🩸 Bleeding Control Kit (Club)
A Bleeding Control Kit is located inside the casing that houses the AED. The kit contains a torniquet, gauze, trauma dressings, hypothermia blanket, nitrile gloves, and trauma shears.

⛑️ This kit is only to be opened in the event of severe bleeding. It is not to be used for general first aid.

🙏 The AED and Bleeding Control Kit are supplied for community access with thanks to North Avoca Board Riders, Interlock Bricklaying, Jake Veale Plumbing, and Survival First Aid.

❤️ Automated External Defibrillator (Club)
An Automated Defibrillator is located on the external wall of the northern side of the club, between the doors to the male and female public toilets.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month and here is important message from Patrol 1 member, nippers coach and already great member of our club Matt to check in not just this month but everyday. Men’s Health Month (June) is a nationally recognised period for AWARENESS, PREVENTION, EDUCATION, and FAMILY engagement for the health and well-being of men and boys. We encourage our members and wider community to look out for the signs that a man in their life - a husband, partner, father, brother, colleague, teammate or surf club buddy – is struggling, and to reach out and ask “Are you OK?”. We are so incredibly proud to announce that the Central Coast Branch Rookie of the Year is our very own Joe. From growing up being in patrol at the beach, working his way through the nippers program, junior club captain and implementing some initiatives that create inclusion and teamwork. This is only the beginning of a young life saver and we cannot wait to see all the success Joe will have in surf lifesaving not only for our club but the wider community. Congratulations to all nominees, there are so inspiring Rookies in our branch and we can all be grateful to each of them.
