👨‍🚒🚒North Arm Cove RFS – Incident Update🚒👨‍🚒

During last night’s heavy rain, the North Arm Cove RFS Brigade was called to assist Pindimar/ Tea Gardens R.F.S , NSW Ambulance , and NSW Police Force at a motor vehicle accident a few kilometres outside Tea Gardens.

Wet roads, reduced visibility and sudden pooling of water continue to make driving conditions hazardous.

Earlier today, the Brigade was called out again to remove fallen trees from the Freeway, just south of the bridge over the Karuah River.

These incidents are a timely reminder to all drivers to take extra care on the roads during ongoing wet weather.

⛈️Safety reminders for wet conditions⛈️

🔥🚒North Arm Cove – Incident 20 May🚒🔥

At approximately 11.15pm on 20 May, North Arm Cove 1, Karuah 5, Fire + Rescue NSW Tea Gardens, and the Medowie pumper, along with their crews, responded to a structure fire in North Arm Cove.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported.

As we move into cooler weather and more homes start using heaters, fireplaces and chimneys, it’s a good time to remind our community to stay alert. If you see unexpected smoke or flames, please report it straight away. Early calls help keep everyone safe.

You can report by calling Triple Zero (000) — if you’re unsure, it’s always better to call.

A few simple seasonal checks can help reduce risk at home:
- Chimney and flue cleaning to prevent build‑up
- Heater safety checks before regular use
- Clear space around heat sources
- Test smoke alarms and replace batteries if needed

Your vigilance helps protect our whole community.

🔥 Fire Update – Burdekins Rd, Bulahdelah 🚒

Following a multi crew response since Saturday afternoon the Burdekins Rd grass fire is now under control.

Crews remain on the ground this morning conducting patrols and monitoring the area to ensure conditions remain stable and to identify any remaining hotspots.

The fire burnt through approximately 120 hectares, with brigades from across the Mid Coast working together throughout the incident.

North Arm Cove’s Cat 9 assisted on the fireground alongside neighbouring brigades as part of the ongoing response.

Incidents like this are also a reminder of how valuable every appliance is during major operations. We’re definitely looking forward to having our Cat 1 back operational and back on the fireground where it belongs 🚒

A great outcome thanks to the hard work, coordination and persistence of all involved 👏🔥

🔥 Grass Fire Update – Bulahdelah 🚒

North Arm Cove’s Cat 9 has redeployed assisting neighbouring brigades on scene.
If our Cat 1 was currently operational, both appliances would be out supporting the response.

As of 5:30pm today, the Burdekins Rd grass fire has burnt through approximately 87 hectares, with multiple crews continuing work on the fireground.

Appliances currently on scene include:
• Tuncurry 1
• Limeburners Creek 1
• Green Point 7A
• Gloucester 7
• Wootton 1
• Mt George 9
• Tinonee 1
• Bulahdelah 9
• Pindimar Tea Gardens 9
• Pindimar Tea Gardens 7
• Marlee 7
• Diamond Beach 1
• Nabiac 1
• Taree 7
• Greta 1
• MidCoast Bulk Water
• Old Bar 1
• Wards River 7
• North Arm Cove Cat 9

The large response highlights the ongoing work required to strengthen containment lines, protect surrounding areas and support crews already on the ground.

A huge effort from all brigades, support agencies and volunteers involved over the past 24 hours 👏🔥
