Big things are coming for Sunshine Coast waterways!

We’re bringing Pimp My Jetty (PMJ) to the region to help support native fish populations 🐟

Pimp my Jetty structures add habitat to our jetties; they promote shellfish recruitment that can improve waterways through filtering water and provide a structure for our fishy friends to hang.

Ozfish members in Western Australia have already taken part in a successful Pimp My Jetty Program, where over 50 jetty owners are now involved in improving their native fish habitats, with the Sydney Harbour and Gold Coast shortly behind.

Do you or someone you know have a jetty we can pimp? Join us and help support healthier waterways for thriving native fish populations. Link below to register your jetty!

Virtual chapter meeting to come, join us on the 6th July, 7pm to discuss all projects on the Sunshine Coast 🐚

This project is funded by BCF.

Is there someone in your chapter who quietly gets it done? Shows up early. Stays late. Puts fish first.

Now’s the time to call them out (in a good way). Our OzFisher of the Year nominations are OPEN.

This is your chance to recognise the local legends who make a real difference to our waterways, whether they’re planting trees, restoring habitat, running events or just always there when it counts.

✔️Any OzFish member can nominate another member
✔️You can nominate across any chapter in Australia
✔️Categories include National, Junior and State/Territory awards
✔️Winners announced on 20 May during National Volunteer Week

If someone deserves a bit of the spotlight, this is it.

👉Nominate here: https://ozfish.org.au/ozfisher-of-the-year/

Nominations close 13 May. Don’t sit on it.
