On Friday, the 13th March, members of the Rotary Clubs of Noosa, Noosa Daybreak, Cooroy and Eumundi, together with members of the SES met for lunch at the Reef Hotel. The lunch was to say "Thank You" to all who had participated in and ran the RYDA youth driver awareness courses over the years. Running of the course has now been taken over by Road Safety Education and hopefully will continue to run for many years to come.
During the lunch, SES presented Tess Alexandroff of Noosa Rotary with a special pin in appreciation for all of her assistance in provision of equipment to the SES over the years.

At our meeting on the 24th February, we inducted another new member to Noosa Rotary, Max Foster. Max, a classical concert pianist, is one of four "younger" members we have had join our ranks in the current Rotary year and it is certainly pleasing to see this new generation, with a renewed vigour, taking hold.
Greig Lee-Archer, the District Area Governor, conducted the induction.

We had another successful Bunnings BBQ on the 20th February. It was a long day out in the heat and once again we met some interesting people. At the front end during the day, we see the rear end of the main workers - the BBQ'er and the man-in-the-middle, followed by some of our younger customers, followed by Rob (who won a prize in our Christmas raffle but has been OS and not able to pick up his prize). The last photo is of Mike on the bike, a total stranger who went out of his way to take a buying trip to Woolies to buy more sausages for us.

At our Meeting on 10 February, we had the pleasure of inducting a new member, Paul Grant, to Noosa Rotary. Paul is one of two new members who have joined us so far this year. One of Paul's sons, Finn has applied for an International Exchange Student Programme in 2027. it should be an interesting year for all.
Also, during the night we made three of our long serving ex-members, Len Tyler, Darryl Dent and David Stinson, Lifetime Honorary Members. Together, they have volunteered 83 years of Service above self to the community - experience that will be sorely missed but they will still have contact through their honorary memberships.
We also had the pleasure of the company of the Rotary District 9620 area Governor, Greig Lee-Archer and his wife, Suzanne for the evening which made it a good fun evening.

It has been a busy month at Bunnings Noosaville in January with three sizzles. In the third one last Friday we had to contend with rain but it did make it a bit cooler.
All proceeds from our current Bunnings sizzles go towards the purchase of Shelterbags for the homeless. Our next consignment is due shortly and will be distributed through the Sunshine Coast Homeless Outreach Centre.
Some of the workers and customers are shown below.

Our raffle to raise funds to buy more Shelterbags for the homeless was very successful thanks to our prize sponsors and to those members who made it happen. We held the draw at Bunnings towards the end of the BBQ on the 19th December with passing Bunnings customers drawing the winning tickets. Five of the smiling winners are shown below.
A huge thank you to those who participated in the raffle. Your generosity will help puchase a further consignment of Shelterbags.
