PCA operates the permaculture educational programs and community events at Djanbung Gardens in the Nimbin valley, northern NSW. The diverse range of programs include the classic PDC (Permaculture Design Course), specialist short courses and workshops, educational group tours, community celebrations and seasonal events, Forgotten Arts Fair and auspicing community groups such as Repair Cafe and NR K

nifemakers & Blacksmiths, and educational tourism. Djanbung Gardens is an internationally acclaimed permaculture centre and farm, designed and managed by Robyn Francis. The gardens are open to the public for self-guide tours on restricted days or by appointment. Before Covid the gardens received thousands of visitors a year since opening in 1994.

Celebrate the turning of the seasons at the Autumn Equinox 2026 Permaculture Open Day at Djanbung Gardens — a rare chance to experience one of Australia’s most iconic permaculture learning centres before it closes later this year.

Spend the day wandering the gardens, meeting the community, and diving into a full program of free workshops and a guided tour with Robyn Francis. From seasonal gardening and food preservation to plant wisdom and a deep-dive tour of the site, it’s a day built for curious growers and anyone who loves learning from the land.

The Permaculture College Australia (PCA) stall is offering 20% off everything — books, charts, organic T‑shirts, conserves and more — and the café will be open with drinks, snacks, and hearty lunches.
