Dog wash update
Unfortunately, the dog wash will not be operating this weekend. 🥹

However, the off-leash area is looking amazing 🌟 after some TLC from the Datjala team—and there are no grass seeds! If your fur babies 🐶 are desperate for a run, this is the perfect weekend to bring them along. 🐾🐾

PAWS Dog Wash will be closed this Saturday 3rd October

25/09/2026

PAWS Dog Wash is Open Tomorrow - Saturday 26th September

Bring your dogs in for a scrub and support a good cause. Every wash helps support Nhulunbuy Pets And Wildlife Shelter’s fundraising efforts for our shelter animals!

A safety reminder for anyone using the off-leash yard for socialisation during dog wash hours:

🌟 Owners must stay attentive and in control of their dogs at all times.
🌟 If your dog has a history of aggression toward other dogs or people, or difficulty being safely managed off‑leash, we kindly ask that you do not use the off‑leash yard during these hours.

We’ve had multiple incidents now - being an animal welfare organisation, and with no vet in town, we must prioritise the safety of our volunteers and all visiting dogs.

Members still have 24/7 access to the exercise yard throughout the week, so you’re welcome to enjoy it at quieter times.

Thank you for understanding and helping us keep dog wash safe!

💜 ADOPT OR FOSTER ME 💜
Meet Josie - a stunning, smart girl who loves people and is eager to learn.

Josie loves people and forms wonderful bonds with her humans. From what we have seen, she can tolerate other dogs in public or passing situations, but at home she definitely prefers her own space and would be happiest as your solo canine sidekick.

Josie would be better suited in a home with older kids or teens to suit her energy level and understand her boundaries.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be your one‑and‑only, Josie might be the perfect match.

Please get in touch to meet Josie! 💜

💜 ADOPT OR FOSTER ME 💜
Meet Ben - our latest little gentleman hoping to find a loving foster or forever home!

Benny is a gorgeous Foxy x Terrier, around 6 to 8 years old. He’s affectionate, playful, and always ready to be part of whatever you’re doing. From what we’ve seen, he gets along beautifully with other dogs and kids, making him a wonderful addition to just about any home.

Ben was surrendered to us with a small gum overgrowth. After being checked out by the vet we're confident it's the result of an old untreated injury. It doesn’t bother him or affect his daily life. Benny is as happy and energetic as ever, living life with his tail wagging 🐾

He’s the kind of dog who brings joy wherever he goes. If you’re looking for a sweet, social companion who’s ready to love and be loved, Benny is waiting for you 💜

Please get in touch if you want to meet Ben!
