Allowing people to get around safely without needing to drive is a key local climate solution. We've been asking Inner West Council to improve its cycling network for years now, with very little success. Thanks to Bike Marrickville and others for their tireless advocacy.

Critics say more separated bike lanes are needed to close gaps and make riding safe for a wider range of people.

Special guest at our Solar and Battery Night at The Royal, Leichhardt!

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be hearing from one of our members at the next Solar and Battery Information Night, set for Tuesday week, September 16.

He’s David Roffe, a retired school principal (pictured at left with his wife, Clare). David and Clare started their solar journey at one of our community events last November.

“I'll be there on the night because my wife and I really valued the support we received from Inner West Community Energy,” David says. “It was great to have a group with no vested interest guiding us through the process and looking over the quote we received.”

David and Clare installed a huge, 30 panel, 13.2kW system with our support in late January, and now they’re steadily working their way through electrifying their home.

If you’d like to hear David’s story, and how Inner West Community Energy can help you with solar, a home battery, and ultimately perhaps the electrification of everything, join us at The Royal on Tuesday, September 16, starting at 7pm.

It’s a free event but please book through Humanitix here: https://events.humanitix.com/solar-and-battery-night-leichhardt

TWO WEEKS TILL HOME BATTERY MINI EXPO!

Including hot water heat pump display.

If you’re interested in jumping on board Australia’s home battery mania, save this date: Saturday, August 16, 10am till 1pm at Marrickville Pavilion.

That’s when we’re holding our first Home Battery Mini Expo!

We’ll also have a specialist in hot water heat pumps to answer your questions about this incredibly energy-efficient hot water technology.

We’ll have at least four battery companies and experts on hand to talk about them, as well as a team of our solar installers. There’ll be a panel discussion at 1045 running till 1130, with the event being opened by our local NSW MP, Jo Haylen.

If you have rooftop solar and want to add a battery, we’ll explain what it might cost and what benefits you’ll enjoy. If you don’t have solar, we can talk for hours about why it should make sense.

Inner West Community Energy is a seven-year old community energy group and registered charity. We’re here to help Inner Westies with solar, batteries, and the electrification of everything. We’ve just facilitated our 50th home battery - and we’ve done more than 440 rooftop solar systems. .

The Mini Expo is a free event but bookings are essential here on Humanitix:
