Newstead Community Garden Newstead Community Garden is a mandala-designed garden employing biodynamic principles. In May 2010 we launched the garden and began growing food.

The garden sprouted from an idea at the Newstead 2021 Summit, held in May 2008. In September 2009, we turned the first sod for our garden and sowed a green manure crop.

Join us for a cup of tea and a delicious slice of cake and be inspired as you take a wander around our beautiful, productive community garden.

There will be:
- children's activities, including a Printing with Nature workshop with local artist Julie Patey (ages 6-12, from 11am to 12pm)
- plants and preserves for sale
- tea/coffee and an array of homemade cakes and scones

When: Sunday 25th October, 11am to 2pm

Support Me-Mandook Galk Bush Tucker Place, support local plants...

Last year some of our garden members volunteered and grew hundreds of native trees and grasses for this great local group, and helped them plant some of them too. It's been great to see their bush tucker farm grow, and now there's an opportunity to sign up as a volunteer to help future plantings. I really encourage you to sign up! Its a great place, with great vibes, great people, doing great things! Sarah :-)

Act now to protect your summer tomatoes from Harlequin bugs!
They're up and about and breeding like crazy in the Central Goldfields right now. Scooping into a bucket of soapy water kills them quickly. Check on north east facing fences, tree trunks and other sunny surfaces every 2 days for the best effects. Mine are always on the exact same tree trunk and wooden nesting box
