A heartfelt thank you to St Patrick's College Townsville Class of 2026, who took part in The Chop, donating their hair and raising more than $19,000 for Mater Foundation. 👏

Inspired by a shared commitment to help others, 21 students
supported people experiencing hair loss while raising vital funds for patients and families at Mater Private Hospital Townsville.

Thanks to The Courier-Mail Children’s Fund for generously supporting Mater Little Miracles by funding an Open Care Warmer for Mater Hospital Springfield.

This specialised equipment helps babies maintain a safe body temperature during treatment and clinical procedures, supporting better outcomes for vulnerable newborns.

As one of Queensland's fastest-growing communities, Springfield is seeing increasing demand for maternity and neonatal services. Support like this helps ensure more local families can access the care they need close to home.

Thank you to The Courier-Mail Children's Fund for helping ensure Springfield's newest arrivals have access to the specialised equipment they need from their very first days. 💙

Over 2 decades and nearly $3 million raised to support prostate cancer research at Mater.💙

As Prostate Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to say a heartfelt thanks to the Lions Prostate Cancer Research & Treatment Project and its dedicated committee for helping fund research and raise awareness about prostate cancer.

This month more than 60 people attended a community information session featuring an expert panel: Dr Sam Davies, Deidre Kiernan, Prof John Hooper and Cr Ryan Murphy. Attendees heard the latest insights into prostate cancer research, treatment options, survivorship and PSA testing guidelines.

The key message from the session? Talk to your GP about prostate cancer screening. Early detection can save lives.

A heartfelt thank you to SHAPE Australia, their subcontractors and suppliers for their generosity at the recent 2026 SHAPE QLD Charity Golf Day.

Together, they raised an incredible $90,000 for three chosen charities.

For the third consecutive year, Mater Little Miracles was honoured to be chosen as one of the beneficiaries, receiving a $30,000 donation. These funds will help advance neonatal care through vital research and specialist equipment that supports some of Queensland's tiniest babies.

Some of the team had the privilege of joining the day and sharing a glimpse of the difference generosity makes for babies and families at Mater.

A partnership that continues to go the distance. 🚴

Since 2023, MITO (Marubeni-Itochu Tubulars Oceania) has proudly supported Mater’s Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle for Cancer, raising an incredible $71,667.29 over four years.

This year alone - Team MITO's 15 riders raised more than $38,000, supported by the success of the MITO Sundowner fundraiser and the generosity of valued customers and partners.

We're so grateful for the support of Premier Dance Academy and Tania, whose commitment over the past two decades has helped create a lasting impact for Queensland babies and their families.

A partnership that's been making a difference for more than 20 years. 💙

The Premier Dance Academy community has raised more than $230,000 for Mater Little Miracles, helping fund vital care, research and equipment for some of Mater's tiniest patients.

Recently, we had the opportunity to thank the team for their incredible support and recognise owner Tania with a Mater Foundation medal for her outstanding contribution over two decades.

It's Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and this year almost 29,000 men in Australia will hear the words “you have prostate cancer”.

Steve’s diagnosis came at the age of 45.

Fortunately, early detection and access to expert care at Mater means Steve got the treatment he needed, and is now cancer free.

Community support through Mater Foundation is helping fund vital research into early detection and better treatment of cancer, giving more patients like Steve hope for a life beyond cancer.

A huge thank you to the Shaune Watts Fundraiser and the Jack Watts Legacy community, whose annual Golf Day raised an incredible $126,776.12 for Mater's Rare Cancer Hub.

Established in honour of Shaune's son, Jack, the Jack Watts Legacy is giving hope to people diagnosed with rare and difficult-to-treat cancers.

Since 2009, Shaune has inspired others to get behind causes close to his heart. Bringing together an incredible community of family, friends, businesses and supporters who are committed to making a difference. Today, his fundraising efforts have contributed more than $1.1 million for Mater, supporting patients, families and life-changing research.
