Bungan Beach IRB Team is hosting an Open day for anyone who might be interested in joining the team for the upcoming season. The Open day will take place at Bungan beach Sunday November 24th at 10:30am, please bring a wetsuit or something with long sleeves.
We will run you through some introductory sessions on how to race crew,patient and drive. We will then have a BBQ and a chance to socialise with the current team and ask any questions you may have.

Bungan Big Swim reschedule:
Our revised date for the swim is on Sunday 21 April at 9.00am.
Let's hope for better conditions.

A reminder to sign up to the Bungan Big Swim (from Newport to Bungan) on Sunday 7 April at 9.00am.

This is a fun swim, not a race (approx. 2kms, with stops along the way). Flippers or wetsuits are fine.

The event is free to all current Bungan SLSC Members and other SLSC members. $20 payable on the day for non-SLSC members.

Hi Bungan SLSC members and friends

The Bungan Gold (and Silver) Mini Ironman event is scheduled in a couple of weeks on Sunday 24 March at 12:00pm - starting the Bungan Beach SLSC

This is the 3rd year the Bungan Gold has been run. The event is free to all current Bungan SLSC Members and other SLSC members. $50 payable on the day for non-SLSC members.

Should be a great afternoon with the Bungan Gold followed by the a wrap up “End of Season Party” on the Surf Club deck from 3pm.

About the Bungan Gold!

The course is a fun challenge - which takes in the landmarks and surrounds of Bungan Beach over 6.1kms.

Starting and finishing at Bungan SLSC

# Leg 1) Run down the beach to the south end (0.6km)

# Leg 2) Swim around Mona Vale Headland into Bongin Bongin Basin (1.2km)

# Leg 3) Run back up over the bush track along the footpath (Barrenjoey Rd) down Beach Road and back to the SLSC (1.8km). (Nb. You can have your shoes available when you get out of the swim if you would like)

# Leg 4) Grab a Rescue Board and paddle around Newport Reef (anti clockwise) and back to the SLSC (2.5km)

Participants can either do the first 3 legs (Silver) or all 4 legs (Gold).

There will be Water Safety along the course for both the swim and board paddle around Newport Reef.

Further updates and details later next week before the event on Sunday 24th. If the conditions are forecast to be too wild the event will be postponed to a later date.

Dear Bungan members, Associate members, Bungan Board riders, friends, and family.

As summer kicks in Bungan Beach SLSC wants to celebrate the start of summer with BBQ at the club. All are welcome to attend, there will be drinks, food and live entertainment provided. The event will start at 2:30pm on the Sunday the 3rd of December and go into the evening.
