Every person’s transition beyond hospital looks different.

For some, it may mean returning home with the right supports in place. For others, it may mean spending time in a purpose-built environment where they can adjust to new routines, access specialist support, and continue working towards their personal goals.

The right environment can make a meaningful difference, creating the space to adapt to life after hospital, build confidence, and reconnect with the things that matter most.

Our SCI PATH (SCI Preparation and Transition Hub) program helps people navigate this transition by bringing together the personal, clinical, and practical supports needed for their next chapter.

Delivered at Ferguson Lodge, a purpose-built environment that supports this transition, SCI PATH provides personalised support, community-based clinical care, medical consumables tailored to individual needs, and opportunities to develop daily living skills.

With over 65 years of spinal cord injury expertise behind the program, participants are supported to focus on their goals, build confidence, and take their next steps towards a life in the community.

A wound is never just a wound.

For someone living with spinal cord injury or a complex disability, a pressure injury can affect much more than physical health. It can impact independence, daily routines, confidence and the ability to do the things that matter most.

That's why Forward Ability Support and BrightSky Australia are pleased to be Bronze Sponsors of the Wounds Australia 2026 Conference. We look forward to connecting with healthcare professionals, sharing knowledge and continuing the conversations that strengthen care for people living with complex needs.

If you're attending, do come say hi!

What a way to kick off our partnership with the Western Sydney Wanderers FC Powerchair Team! ❤️🖤

Our Forward Ability Support and BrightSky Australia teams recently visited Wanderers Football Park to celebrate the beginning of our partnership as the Official Powerchair Front of Shirt and Inclusive Schools Partner.
It was great to meet the Wanderers’ National Champion Powerchair team, see the new jersey unveiled for the first time, and spend time with players from both the Powerchair and Men’s A-League teams.

But what we're supporting goes well beyond the jersey.
Through the Wanderers’ Inclusive Schools Program, our partnership will help create more opportunities for students of all abilities across Western Sydney to experience football in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Increasing access to sport at grassroots gives more young people the opportunity to discover what sport can bring – confidence, connection, belonging and the joy of being part of a team.

We're incredibly proud to play a part in making those opportunities more accessible and can't wait to see what the season ahead brings.

This National Wellness Month, we're shining a light on a simple truth: wellbeing goes beyond physical health.

When you live with a spinal cord injury or a neurological disability, the physical, emotional, social and psychological aspects of wellbeing are deeply connected. The physical is never really just physical, which is why care should take a whole-person approach.

👉 Swipe to see what whole-person care can look like in practice.

The Wheelchair Basketball Australia season continues to build momentum, with last weekend's Manly Wheel Eagles and Wollongong Roller Hawks matchup showcasing the incredible talent, determination and sportsmanship across the league.

Our teams from Forward Ability Support and BrightSky Australia were thrilled to attend the game and experience the energy, skill and community spirit of wheelchair basketball firsthand.

We are immensely proud to continue supporting the Wheelchair Basketball Australia National League and the Manly Wheel Eagles, helping improve access to adaptive sport and creating more opportunities for athletes and communities to thrive, both on and off the court.

Here's to another great chapter in the season, and to everyone who makes wheelchair basketball such a vibrant community and every game so thrilling.

It’s often the everyday things that shape how life feels.

Knowing there’s a meal ready for you.
Not having to think about laundry.
Having practical support around you, without every day feeling centred around care.

Ferguson Lodge is more than an accommodation. It’s a place where daily life feels more manageable, comfortable, and supported, so there’s more space for the things that matter to you.

That might be spending time with others, getting out into the community, focusing on your independence, or simply having a little more time in the day.

Because when the practical things are taken care of, life can open up in other ways too.

Is Ferguson Lodge the place for you or a loved one?

Innovation and leadership in disability support and healthcare are critical right now, as the sector continues to evolve and respond to change.

Forward and BrightSky Australia are proud to be Silver Sponsors of the DSC Annual NDIS Conference 2026 in Brisbane, 13–14 August, supporting a space that brings together the people and ideas shaping the future of disability support across Australia.

This conference brings together leaders, practitioners, and decision-makers across the disability and NDIS sector to engage with policy, practice, and service delivery, and the ideas shaping its ongoing evolution.

With ongoing change across the NDIS, these conversations carry even greater importance. They help ensure our sector continues to move with clarity, collaboration, and a shared focus on improving outcomes for people and communities.

Innovation and evolution have strongly shaped who Forward and BrightSky are today, and we look forward to being in Brisbane and part of the conversation alongside those driving and guiding the sector forward.

🏀 Round 2 of the Wheelchair Basketball Junior Club League is just around the corner!

The Junior Club League is all about giving young athletes the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, make friends and experience the excitement of wheelchair basketball in a fun and supportive environment.

As the league continues, we're reminded that sport creates so much more than competition.

Together, Forward Ability Support and BrightSky Australia are proud to continue supporting Wheelchair Sports NSW / ACT and the Junior Club League. By investing in adaptive sport at grassroots, we are helping create opportunities for more young people to participate, thrive and enjoy everything community sport has to offer.

We're excited to see the next generation of athletes take to the court for Round 2.
