SDA Delegates visited NSW Parliament House this week to discuss the issues that matter most to workers across our region.

We welcome the strong progress already made by the NSW Labor Government to improve workplace safety, tackle violence against retail workers, strengthen workplace protections, and address the challenges of emerging workplace technologies.

While these reforms are positive steps forward, there is more work to do. Our delegates advocated for the introduction of Workplace Protection Orders, increased investment in social and affordable housing, free and safe parking for workers at shopping centres, stronger protections for young and vulnerable workers, and a new public holiday for NSW.

Thank you to Sophie Cotsis, Yasmin Catley MP, Kate Washington MP, David Mehan MP and Jodie Harrison MP for taking the time to meet with our delegates and discuss these important issues.

Together, we're working for safer workplaces, stronger communities, and a fairer future for working people. ✊

From 1 December, 18-20 year olds in retail, fast food and pharmacy will start receiving higher rates of pay.
