What is Skills for Trades?
Skills for Trades was conceived by a group of industry leaders passionate about training the next generation of bakers and pastry chefs that will lead the industry into the future.
Dean Gibson, Jon Pryer and Shane Williams have been collaborating on projects and supporting Australian international competition teams since 2014. Together they created the world’s first moving chocolate showpieces and not only created world records but also provided amazing opportunities for training and collaboration for young tradespeople to learn skills, beyond those available in the classroom or workplace.
After many discussions with industry leaders and business owners, a short documentary was created from the experience that identified a need for a mechanism by which industry stakeholders and government bodies are able to work together to enhance valued recognition and support for artisans.
How will we do this?
Introducing the Skills Collider.
