We’re celebrating a story that’s really about the incredible young people who make Polyphonic what it is.

Seeing Julia’s journey from being too nervous to play in front of anyone to finding confidence through music is exactly why Polyphonic exists.

We’re so grateful to everyone who has trusted us with their creativity, courage and growth, and to the families, facilitators and community who make this program possible.

A huge thank you to the Newcastle Herald for sharing Julia’s story and helping shine a light on the importance of accessible, inclusive creative spaces for young people.

We’re also incredibly thankful for the ongoing support from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, whose funding allows us to continue offering Polyphonic free of charge through 2027.

Here’s to many more young people discovering their confidence, finding their voice and making music together.

Recently I had the opportunity to attend an inspiring 2 day training session with the Hunter Community Alliance alongside a wonderful group of people from across our region.

It was a valuable chance to learn more about how strong relationships, genuine listening and collective action can help create meaningful change in our communities.

I came away with plenty of ideas to reflect on and apply to our work at Play Anything, particularly as we continue building inclusive programs shaped by the voices and experiences of the people involved.

Thanks to Hunter Community Alliance and everyone who took part!

What a wonderful day!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our Mid-Year Showcase Concerts today. Seeing the room filled with family, friends and supporters made the performances even more special.

To all of our performers: you should be incredibly proud. It takes courage to get up and share your music, and today you did exactly that. Every performance reflected the hard work, growth and passion you’ve put into your music this year.

Thank you to our amazing team for everything that happened behind the scenes, and to everyone who helped make today such a success.

We couldn’t be prouder. 🎵💜

A lovely little shoutout from Jim's Test and Tag - Rutherford NSW

We’re grateful to be featured in their small business highlights and always appreciate local businesses supporting and celebrating the work happening in our community.

⚡️ If you need electrical/fire testing, Andrew is your guy!

I haven't highlighted a business in a while, so I thought it was about time to do it again.

Play Anything Music Therapy has been with us now for 2 years and have just moved into a new premises in Shortland.
Play Anything Music Therapy provides individual and group music therapy sessions for children, teens and adults. Their experienced therapists use music to support communication, social skills, emotional regulation, memory, coordination and more.

From singing and songwriting to playing instruments and movement, every session is tailored to the individual's goals, interests and abilities.

They also bring the benefits of music into early learning centres, aged care homes and community spaces across the region.

Carlin McLellan the director says "In music therapy, small moments can make a big impact. Whether it's a child joining in, a teenager sharing their lyrics, or someone reconnecting with a favourite song, these personal milestones often lead to progress beyond the session."
