Once registered, you can print your personal barcode and bring it along each week to record a finish time. You can use the same barcode at any of the 800+ parkrun locations around the World or 165+ across Australia. But remember, no barcode, no result - ie: if you forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode, you can still participate but you will NOT record a finish time against your name. Arrive before 7.50am for a "first-timers" brief and we’ll give you the full “run” down in person. parkrun is totally free, but we ask that you volunteer at least 2-3 times per year.

- Strollers are welcome
- No bikes or scooters (walkers/runners/strollers only)
- Children are encouraged but absolutely must be accompanied by an adult if under 11yo
- Dogs - well behaved, well controlled dogs on a short lead are welcome (one per runner/walker).

For the keen parkrunners who are also football fans.

The 2026 World Cup is set to kick off today across 16 stadiums in Canada, Mexico and the USA ⚽

But how would you rank them? Capacity, atmosphere or legacy? Not us.

We are here for what really matters: how close each stadium is to a parkrun 🏟️

Let’s see which stadium lifts the Jules Rimet and which go out at the group stage 👉 parkrun.me/szv6b

After 14 years of successfully hosting a parkrun in Carrington, we have many people and groups to thank

1- our landowner The City of Newcastle, for their licensing support and for promptly fixing issues that we notice and register with them
2- our startline landowner, the Newcastle Rowing Club, for hosting us every Saturday morning, storing our gear and their members who greet us early each Saturday and support us with volunteering.
3- parkrun Asia-Pacific for event support
4- The Athletes Foot for being a sponsor of parkrun Au and for visiting our event regularly with goodies to try and devour.
5- Our event Team members, past and present, who shoulder the responsibilities with welcoming attitudes and work together to add value and safety to events
6- our parkrunners for continuing to make Newy one of Australia's larger parkruns that runs smoothly and with grace each Saturday
7- the Carrington community for continuing to join us each week and welcome our participants who are making their lives healthier both physically and mentally
8- to everyone who makes Newy parkrun a fabulous community event each week by organising, volunteering, running, walking, talking, chatting, cheering, thanking, supporting; you are all amazing
THANK YOU
