While our usual priest, Fr Dalibor, is taking a well-deserved holiday, Fr Mark Donnelly from the Greek Archdiocese will be officiating this Saturday.

Following the service will be a sausage sizzle, and some indoor or outdoor games depending on the weather. See you there 😁

During the start of the Great Lent, an English Liturgy is being held at Saint Naum of Ohrid Serbian Orthodox Church Newcastle every Saturday. First timers and friends are very welcome!

ROMCA will be at the Russian Orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas tomorrow, a unique experience of the liturgy in Newcastle.

Work and Prayer at Holy Trinity Skete (Monkerai) will continue next weekend (9am Saturday 15th - 4pm Sunday 16th). A Typkia service will be conducted at 8am on Sunday morning. Work has been ongoing for months now, and it is hoped a liturgy can be conducted soon if the required tasks are completed.

Please notify James (0402 831 894) as soon as possible if you plan to attend, especially if you will need assistance reaching the site. Bringing food, camping gear and tools is encouraged. On this occasion, no alcohol is permitted.

We're happy to announce that English Liturgy returns this Saturday the 8th at 9am at Saint Naum of Ohrid Serbian Orthodox Church Newcastle. We will be commemorating St Brigid of Kildare, feel free to prepare for the feast by making a reed cross to be blessed.

After this Saturday, the next English Liturgy will be the 22nd.

CANCELLED: BLESSING OF THE WATERS AT THE BOGEY HOLE 12/01/2025

Unfortunately due to the Bogey Hole having large boulders / concrete slabs from the side wall of the pool (and possibly from the rocks above) it has been deemed “unsafe” for our parishioners to dive in to retrieve the Cross this year, as the Crown Lands & Newcastle City Council will not have them removed in time for this Sundays event.

The Divine Liturgy will still be held in our Church, honouring the Great Feast of the Holy Epiphany as it does every year. The retrieving of the Cross will not follow at the Bogey Hole for 2025.

God willing this is rectified soon enough and we can return to the Bogey Hole again next year, as we have in all past years.

Here's a photo from the last English Liturgy at Saint Naum of Ohrid Serbian Orthodox Church Newcastle this year, on Saturday the 28th. The fortnightly services will be paused over the Nativity/Epiphany season and will return soon.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

There are a number of additional services this festive season across the parishes in Newcastle leading up to Nativity and Epiphany, which are found here all in one place. House blessings will occur soon, so get in touch with your priest as early as you can. For the early weekend risers, show up and help out at St Nicholas on the 4th of Jan to help the parish prepare for Christmas.
