Tonight, we worked on our Aquatic OAS levels 4, 5, and 6. This involved a lot of swimming back and forth, floating, as well as rescuing each other, before doing some theory stuff at the end. Very productive night!

We had our unit camp over the weekend at TGW Camp Cudgegong. Not everyone was there, but those that were had a great weekend doing some wine tasting and going to the Rylstone Kandos Show. It was a much needed getaway that everyone enjoyed to the fullest.

Over the weekend, some of our rovers attended Mootamia, hosted by and down at Camp Kur-Ring-Gai. Our rovers had lots of fun from the Saturday morning activities into the night of dancing with the live musician, Marissa. Bravooo for a great camp, Normanhurst and Asquith!

With the current fires burning at Oysters Cove in the Port Stephens area, one of our local Rovers visited the Medowie fire station to provide snacks and morale-boosting items. Ian, an experienced firefighter, expressed his gratitude for the donations from Maddie and the Medowie residents, stating that they would be invaluable to the ground crews. Firefighters from the Hunter region and the central coast have also contributed resources, including trucks, to support the efforts. This situation serves as a timely reminder of the importance of having a bushfire emergency plan in place, as exemplified by Maddie, who, following her conversation with Ian and firefighters from the Thornton Station, proactively prepared her vehicle for potential evacuation.
