BacBack to Back Galleries - A Whimsey of Critters with artists Jade Phoenix Isaac and Chez Rands will be sure to amuse and delight audiences!

Exhibition dates: 19 June - 5 July

Official opening celebration: Saturday 20 June 2 - 4 pm

A collection of mixed media paintings and sculptural ceramics inspired by the natural world.

Jade Phoenix Isaac
Jade has a particular passion for birds, Australian native fauna and flora and the diverse curious little things that jump, fly and crawl in the micro landscape we bound about in. Jade’s works are highly detail and predominantly focus on portraying wild animals, gaining their likeness to capture a sense of their presence in this competitive landscape. Jade also delves into pure imaginings, into the tantalising and fragile play between movement, colour, emotion, detail & composition to forge a path forward and emerge with a uniqueness.

Chez Rands
Chez has drawn, painted, and experimented with creative media all her life. Her work has been exhibited in several Sydney galleries and hotels including Marriott, Quay West and Nikko. She has worked in watercolour and pastel, enjoying the flexibility and speed of these media. In the last 15 years Chez has returned to an earlier passion for ceramics and is inspired by the quirky characteristics of birds and animals. Chez loves the challenges of working in three dimensions.

Reflections at Back to Back Galleries commences Friday 29 May with the official opening Saturday 30 May from 1-3pm. The exhibition will run until 14 June and will feature new ceramic works by Hilda Botha & Wendy Thompson

Reflections celebrates the versatility of clay and the diverse approaches it can take to shape it. Hilda Botha presents a series of sculptural figurative forms, in contrast, Wendy Thompson showcases a dynamic range of pottery.

Together, the artists create a dialogue between figure and form, inviting viewers to consider the reflective qualities of ceramics—not only in surface, but in meaning and experience.
