The build continues.
The final pieces of the kitchen and showers are coming together this week.

Then we go live with the first Veteran retreat at the end of this month.

The war’s over, but the journey home is just beginning…like Odysseus sailing from Troy, uniform shed, but the real battles rage on the way back.

Identity isn’t permanent.
It’s seasonal.

And a lot of suffering comes from trying to stay inside an old version of yourself… long after it stopped fitting.

A lobster outgrows its shell.
The shell that once protected it becomes a cage.

Humans do the same.

We cling to the old shell:
the soldier identity
the trauma story
the “tough one”
the one who never needed help

What once kept you safe…
can become what keeps you stuck.

Swiss 8 research reinforced something I now see constantly:

Veteran decline isn’t only PTSD.
It’s loss of identity.
Loss of tribe.
Loss of purpose.

Support is starting to exist but most veterans don’t know how to access it, and the system is hard to navigate.
