We are proud to be a partner in Deadly Dreaming, an Indigenous-led research initiative that has secured more than $2.8 million in national funding to help transform ageing and dementia care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Delivered in partnership with the The University of Newcastle, Australia, Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI), Yakuway Indigenous Corporation and an Elders Advisory Group, the project places Elders, culture, community and Country at the centre of research and care.
We look forward to supporting yarning and Elder engagement activities alongside our partners and contributing to this important work.

🎂🎈 Recently, the Soul Clinic team celebrated one year of supporting guests at Soul Hub. 🎈🎂
A partnership between Hunter Primary Care and Soul Hub Newcastle, Soul Clinic provides accessible healthcare in a safe, welcoming and trusted environment for people experiencing homelessness, disadvantage and complex health challenges.
In its first 12 months, the clinic delivered:
💙 198 clinics
💙 1,893 GP appointments
💙 Support for 693 guests
💙 Care for 305 people accessing the service for the first time.
While we're proud of these milestones, we're even prouder of the relationships built, the lives impacted and the partnerships that make this model of care possible.

This year’s theme, All In, is a powerful reminder that reconciliation is not a spectator sport. It calls on all Australians to step forward, take action and commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.

This week, Hunter Primary Care acknowledged National Reconciliation Week and National Sorry Day with a special staff event aligned to this year’s theme, ‘All In’ 🖤💛❤️
We were honoured to welcome Uncle Justin Ridgeway from the Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council and Murrook Culture Centre, who shared powerful reflections on identity, relationships, spirituality, truth-telling and connection. Staff were encouraged to reflect on the role we all play in reconciliation and how we can continue to learn, listen and walk together.
